Palworld Work Suitability — Best Base Worker Pals

Every base job in Palworld maps to a work suitability. Here are all twelve, what they do, and how to find the best Pal for each one without guessing.

Palworld Work Suitability — Best Base Worker Pals

A Palworld base runs on work suitabilities. Each Pal is stamped with the jobs it can perform and a level for each one, and a well-staffed base is really just the right Pals matched to the right stations. Get the matching right and production hums; get it wrong and you have a crowd of Pals standing around while your furnaces sit cold.

The twelve work suitabilities

There are twelve jobs a Pal can be suited for. Every worker you assign is doing one of these, and each Pal's level in a job decides how fast and how effectively it performs. Click any job to see the best Pals for it, ranked by level:

Work suitabilities and what they do

🔥 KindlingLighting furnaces and cooking food.

🔨 HandiworkCrafting items at workbenches and assembly lines.

How work level changes the math

The same job done by a level 1 Pal and a level 4 Pal is not the same job. A higher level means the task completes faster, so one strong specialist can outproduce two weak generalists at the same station. When you are short on base slots — and you always are — level is what decides who stays.

The Trench Truth

Generalists feel efficient and are not. A Pal with four low-level jobs looks versatile, but it wanders between stations and finishes nothing quickly. A base of narrow, high-level specialists — one great miner, one great kindler — beats a base of jacks-of-all-trades every time.

Turning a good worker into a great one

Once you have the right species at a station, work-speed passive skills are how you push output higher. Traits like Artisan and Serious multiply how fast a Pal works, so a specialist carrying them does the job of two. Browse the passive skills directory to see which ones matter, then use the breeding calculator to breed those traits onto your best worker.

Build the roster

  1. List the jobs your base needs. Match your production goals to the twelve suitabilities above.
  2. Open the job page for each one. Each work suitability page ranks every Pal for that job by level.
  3. Prefer high-level specialists. Take the top-level Pals and let them own one station each.
  4. Breed in work-speed passives. Finish by stacking Artisan-style traits with the calculator.

FAQ

What are work suitabilities in Palworld?

Work suitabilities are the twelve base jobs a Pal can perform — such as Kindling, Watering, Mining, and Handiwork — each with a level that determines how fast and effectively the Pal does that job.

Does work suitability level matter?

Yes. A higher level in a job means the task completes faster, so one high-level specialist can outproduce two low-level generalists at the same station. Level is what decides who keeps a base slot.

How do I make a base worker faster?

Match the right species to each station, then breed work-speed passive skills like Artisan and Serious onto it using the breeding calculator. Those traits multiply how quickly the Pal completes its job.
